Now here is a fun, new business concept…Sleeping around is a unique pop-up hotel in Belgium offering guests a surprise location. Sleeping around has taken the popular pop-up concept from the retail industry and has applied it to the hotel business.
They are targeted people with a flexible attitude towards service. ‘These days, we are all in search of a lot more than just comfort and luxury. Providing a pure and authentic experience is much more challenging…Authenticity, comfort, adventure, design and the unexpected…these are the experiences we all seek. ‘ is the marketing message on their website.
The pop-up hotel offers metal containers that have been transformed into compact yet luxurious hotel rooms using sustainably resourced materials, with a bathroom and space for dining. Rather than remaining at one particular location, the boxes are transported around Antwerp and guests booking a night are treated to a surprise. After confirming their stay, they are alerted to the location of the hotel via GPS directions.
At the moment there are 4 container hotel rooms, as well as a breakfast/lounge container and even a sauna container. The hotel is located at the Scheldekaai in Antwerp, but they are asking people to give suggestions for future locations on their website.
It will be interesting to see whether other hotels or even other industries will adopt this pop-up concept.
