TV advertising can be clever, entertaining and creative. It makes it even more interesting and entertaining when competitors start attacking each other. It doesn’t happen that often and in some countries it isn’t even allowed, but Jaguar and Mercedes have just done it.
In September 2013 Mercedes launched their magic body control TV commercial, featuring a bunch of funky chickens showing off their dance moves. The finishing tagline they used was: the best or nothing.
Now, Jaguar has come back and taken the opportunity to make fun of their German competitor. They have recently released their own magic body control spot, but instead of chickens they are using a Jaguar in their advertising with the finishing tagline of: good to be bad.
